Tournament season is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off another year with the prestigious Los Sueños Triple Crown. This event represents some of the best in competitive sportfishing, and today, it also represents something deeply personal for us at Hook Optics.
Years ago, it was brother Bill Pino of Squidnation who first told us, “You’ve got to listen to this tournament.” Our initial reaction? "Who listens to a fishing tournament?" But curiosity got the better of us, and we tuned in.
Well, we haven’t tuned out since.
At the time, the idea of creating a sunglass line wasn’t even on our radar. Back then, we were simply fishermen, selling other sunglass brands in our three eyecare practices, An Optical Galleria. We had no intention of creating our own line—until other brands sold off, leaving us with little choice.
And so, Hook Optics was born.

It’s a celebration of Costa Rica’s world-class fishing and the dedication of anglers at the top of their game.
