The "Pescadora Billfish Championship" in Quepos, Costa Rica, has once again proven why it is one of the "most competitive and prestigious all-female fishing tournament in the world". With an electric atmosphere and record-breaking performances, the tournament again showcased the "skill, endurance, and passion" of women in sportfishing. 

This year’s lady angler competition was nothing short of spectacular, bringing together "56 teams and 260 participants" in a thrilling two-day battle on the water now sponsored by Hook Optics Polarized Sunglasses made for fishing! The ladies released an incredible "1,741 billfish", along with "12 dorado (mahi-mahi) and 7 tunas landed", solidifying the "elite level of competition" and the "impressive talent of these female anglers".

Among the standout performances was "Ana Abarca", who delivered an unforgettable win aboard “SEADUCTION”. Born and raised in Quepos, Ana has long dreamed of competing at the highest level, and this year, she made it happen in her own backyard. 

"This win is something I’ve dreamed about since I was young. Growing up watching some of the best fishermen in Quepos inspired me to one day be on this stage. To accomplish this at home, surrounded by passion and camaraderie, is beyond words,"* Ana shared. 

Beyond Ana’s remarkable success, several other competitors made history with their achievements: 

- "Josabeth Abarca" – Named "Top Female Angler in the IGFA Release Division", recognizing her exceptional performance. 

- "Elizabeth Arn (E&A)" – Named "Top Female Angler of the Year" in the Hook and Hand Division, racking up an impressive "27 sailfish releases" and "2,700 points". 

- "Adriana Frinkelstein (Miss Behavin')" – Secured the "Dorado Grand Champion" title with a "54.1-pound dorado". 

- "Stress Reliever Team" – Took the "Tuna Grand Champion" title with outstanding catches, including: 

 - "Connie Balusek" (73.1 lb, 49.1 lb) 

 - "Kimberly Kuykendall" (64 lb) 

 - "Karen Hall" (37.3 lb)
